Job Overview
The Lotus Constructions is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Officer to join our team at our Amritsar, Punjab project site. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing workplace safety policies, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and fostering a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure strict compliance with workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all employees and contractors.
- Organize safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness training programs.
- Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and accidents, and prepare detailed reports.
- Maintain safety records, inspection reports, permits, and audit documentation.
- Coordinate emergency response procedures, fire safety drills, and evacuation plans.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, company policies, and statutory regulations.
Requirements
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Safety, Fire & Safety Management, or a related field.
- Additional safety certifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, etc.) will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the construction, infrastructure, or manufacturing industry.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
- Ability to identify workplace hazards and implement preventive measures.
- Familiarity with risk assessment, incident investigation, and emergency response procedures.
- Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in maintaining safety documentation and reports.
Preferred Candidate
- Candidates residing in Amritsar, Punjab, or willing to relocate will be preferred.
- Prior experience on construction or infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
